For you

Art therapy, trauma therapy, counselling.

Art therapy

Art therapy combines creative making with therapeutic support. Through painting, drawing or other artistic forms of expression, feelings, experiences and inner processes can become visible, opening up new perspectives and revealing personal resources.

ABOUT ART THERAPY

Trauma-informed art therapy

Trauma-informed art therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses creative methods to accompany people with distressing experiences in a stabilising way. At its centre are safety, self-regulation, access to inner resources, and new ways of working gently through difficult experiences.

ABOUT TRAUMA-INFORMED ART THERAPY

Counselling

We offer confidential orientation conversations for queer people and for their families and close friends. We clarify questions, discuss specific concerns and, where needed, refer on to appropriate services or professionals — these conversations are not therapeutic in nature.

ABOUT COUNSELLING

Art therapy

Art therapy combines artistic making with therapeutic support. At its heart is the belief that every person has creative capacities and inner resources that can help them process experiences, develop new perspectives and support their own growth.

Through painting, drawing, shaping or other creative forms of expression, a space opens up in which feelings, thoughts and experiences can become visible and tangible. What is hardest to put into words — fears, hopes, wishes or inner conflicts — can find expression through images and making. The creative process often opens surprising routes forward and helps people rediscover their own strengths and room for action.

Art therapy works from resources: it looks not only at difficulties but above all at existing capacities, inner sources of strength and possibilities for growth. The aim is to accompany people in their personal development, strengthen their self-perception and activate their creative energies.

Art therapy is offered by KATHARINA BURGER, in person and online. For information, costs and appointments, just use the CONTACT FORM.

Trauma-informed art therapy

Trauma-informed art therapy builds on the methods of art therapy and integrates trauma-sensitive therapeutic approaches. It is for people who have had distressing or traumatic experiences and are looking for a gentle, stabilising way into their inner processes.

Creative methods allow an indirect and often gentler route to memories and feelings held in the body and nervous system. The focus is not on reliving distressing situations, but on building stability, safety and self-regulation.

Trauma-informed work is particularly about:

  • strengthening a sense of safety and orientation
  • fostering inner stability and grounding
  • gently releasing held tensions and blockages
  • supporting self-perception and self-reflection
  • sharing knowledge about traumatic responses (psychoeducation)
  • developing new perspectives and room for action
  • discovering creative forms of expression
  • making personal resources, strengths and inner sources of energy visible

Trauma-informed work requires particular expertise, attentiveness and responsibility. The therapeutic process always follows the individual needs, limits and possibilities of the person being supported.

Counselling for queer people and those close to them

We offer confidential counselling conversations for queer people and for family members, friends and close contacts. They are for anyone with questions about sexual orientation, gender identity or specific situations in their own environment, who is looking for orientation or support.

In the conversation we take time to clarify what matters to you, work through your questions and consider possible next steps. Depending on the situation, we provide information about relevant services, professionals, support offerings or networks, and help you find the right people to turn to.

This counselling is for orientation and information, and is not therapeutic in nature. The aim is to help you make better sense of your situation, find useful resources, and open routes to professional support.
